Welcome to the largest wildflower farm in the United States! Stretching for more than 200 acres, Wildseed Farms is a sight to behold, featuring walking trails, vineyards full of locally grown grapes, wine tasting rooms, and a relaxing Biergarten.

They’re located outside Fredericksburg, a picturesque Central Texas town just 1.5 hours from both Austin and San Antonio.

This is perhaps the most colorful spot in the state. When you arrive, you’ll be greeted by rows and rows of bright, blooming flowers.

The best time to visit is March-October, although sunflowers are at their peak in late summer.

Enjoy 0.5 miles of wheelchair-accessible walking trails that weave through the farm’s many gardens, then grab some snacks or a scoop of Wildseed’s famous homemade peach ice cream at the Brewbonnet Biergarten.

If you want to buy your own sunflower seeds, they have almost a dozen varieties to choose from, each gorgeous in its own way!

Entrance is free, and the farm is open year-round, seven days a week.

P-6 Farms

Located 1 hour outside of Houston, P-6 Farms promises a day full of “Texas-sized family fun.”

Dewberry Farm is a larger-than-life destination found 45 minutes-1 hour outside of downtown Houston.

If you’re hoping for stunning sunflower photos, this is the place! While most other sunflower farms in Texas charge high rates or don’t allow professional photography at all, this one offers shoots for just $25.

Unfortunately, they no longer have opportunities to pick your own blooms, although you can purchase pre-picked flowers at their nursery.

Wild Berry near Dallas also features an adorable cafe where you can enjoy fresh farm-to-table snacks and meals.

Day passes cost $5 per person.

Mainstay Farm Park

Just 20 minutes from Fort Worth and 50 minutes from downtown Dallas, Mainstay Farm Park is a must-visit when it comes to sunflower fields in Texas.

This destination is known as the “Biggest Backyard in Texas,” operating as a family-friendly, one-stop-shop for all kinds of outdoor adventures.
