These romantic getaways in Pennsylvania are just what any couple needs to rekindle their spark and spend quality time together.

I have a little bit of everything on this list, from historic homes in Amish country to indulgent, adults-only Pocono resorts.

I’ll fill you in on all the need-to-know details, like must-book suites, romantic packages, and a variety of activities.

Surrounded by hotspots like Washington D.C. and New York City, The Keystone State can often get overlooked.

But fewer crowds, abundant natural beauty, and warm hospitality make PA a perfect destination for a loved-up escape (literally, one of the best romantic getaways in America!).

My Favorite Spots: Most Romantic Getaways in Pennsylvania

So get away from it all and book yourself into one of these charming couples retreats in Pennsylvania!

1. The Settlers Inn

Blissfully located amidst the lakes, state forests, and dramatic gorges of northeast Pennsylvania, The Settlers Inn is easily one of the best romantic Pennsylvania getaways for nature-loving pairs.

You and your special someone will feel instantly at home in the authentic 1920s Arts & Crafts Lodge, which features plenty of nooks and crannies to cuddle up in (like the plush couches next to the living room fireplace).

Meanwhile, their suites are the perfect balance between cozy and luxe, boasting king beds, loveseats, sunny outdoor views, and jacuzzis made for two. However, you may hardly want to spend time inside.

That’s because you’ll find walking trails, artfully designed gardens, and the banks of the meandering Lackawaxen River–all right at your doorstep. The property also provides free bikes perfect for a romantic ride around Hawley’s historic downtown.

2. Cottage in the Country

Escape everyday life and retreat to your own private sanctuary at this Columbia, PA getaway.

The stay is hosted by Carol and Pete, whom past renters have described as super gracious, communicative, and accommodating. They’re always on hand to make your time at the cottage as comfy as possible.

Here, not a single detail has gone unconsidered. Thoughtful touches like fresh flowers, homemade blueberry scones, and gorgeous decor make it feel like a home away from home.

Spend your mornings sipping coffee together on the terrace, then end each evening with glasses of wine and a crackling fire in the open-air courtyard. Don’t forget to say hi to the neighbors–farm animals like chickens, cows, and donkeys live around the property.

If you feel like hitting the town, nearby bowling and minigolf make for a fun date night, and the area is overflowing with scenic walking trails.

3. Cove Haven Resort

Full of quirky, love-themed touches, this is one of my favorite Pennsylvania getaways for couples that like a little extra indulgence.

Cove Haven Resort is found just a stone’s throw away from Lake Wallenpaupack and right in the heart of the Pocono Mountains, which means you’ll be surrounded by natural beauty on all sides.

They offer all kinds of packages, from adrenaline-raising activities like paintball and whitewater rafting to more classic romance bundles.

You don’t have to be recently wed to enjoy their Ultimate Honeymoon Package, which includes a 3-night stay in their most lavish suite, live nightly entertainment, private dining options, horseback riding, and all kinds of food + beverage treats.

The 4-story Champagne Suite is something you’ll have to see to believe, complete with a 7-foot-tall champagne glass whirlpool tub, heart-shaped ensuite pool, and dry sauna.

4. Paradise Stream Resort

The next stay on this list of couple getaways in Pennsylvania is actually part of the same hotel group as Cove Haven Resort and is located on an isolated private lake in Mount Pocono, so you know more steamy suites are in store.

At this couples-only property, activities abound, and date night is guaranteed never to be boring. Choose between minigolf, couples spa treatments, drinks at the poolside bar, or even a visit to the onsite nightclub.

As for accommodation, opt for the ultra-romantic Diana’s Oasis Suite, which features a heart-shaped tub for two under a starlight ceiling, plus a king-round bed to retreat to each night.

Try to time your stay for mid-week, as they host a Wine Down Wednesdays tour along the Pocono Mountains wine trail, hitting three local stops for tastings, followed by a dinner back at the resort.

5. Country View Bed & Breakfast

Leave your worries behind and head to the heart of Amish country, where you’ll find this family-owned and operated B&B packed with quaint vistas and romantic moments just waiting to happen.

Enjoy cozy common areas in the historic main house (built in 1903), as well as the intimacy of your very own Studio Cottage, which boasts a king-sized bed, kitchenette, and private back porch with stunning sunset views.

Outdoors, lush gardens, rolling farmland, and local animal friends await. Sit on the front porch for a while and watch for Amish buggies or proud turkeys passing through.

6. Rustic A-Frame Retreat

Like something straight off an Instagram influencer’s page, this impeccably furnished cabin is easily one of the most picturesque Pennsylvania getaways for couples.

The property is tucked away in the woods near Lake Naomi, and the surrounding area is packed with other beautiful bodies of water, natural areas, and state parks.

There’s no shortage of rustic charm here. Couples can snuggle up around the wood-burning fireplace, whip up a meal for two in the fully-equipped kitchen, and compete over classic board games.

Spend your days hiking, boating, or enjoying winter sports in the colder months. At night, unwind in the hot tub, sit in the indoor steam sauna, or stargaze and share s’mores around the campfire.

7. The Inn at Westwynd Farm

Any chocolate-loving couple has certainly heard of Hershey, and the next of these romantic getaways in Pennsylvania puts all those sweet treats practically at your doorstep.

This spot’s proximity to major cultural attractions in PA isn’t its only perk. The Inn at Westwynd Farm is as fanciful as its name suggests, set on an equestrian farm and full of simple elegance and serene settings.

Settle into a plush suite complete with antique furniture, a fireplace, a jetted spa tub for two, and a private porch with twin rocking chairs.

Show your partner some extra love with the Enchanted Evening Package, which includes a rose bouquet, champagne, and chocolate-covered strawberries, rose petals scattered on your king-sized bed, and a $75 gift certificate to The Mill restaurant (hello, date night). Plus, you’ll get to take home a few custom keepsakes!

8. The Dolon House Bed & Breakfast

Hidden away in the southern Poconos is a charming destination known as the “Little Switzerland of America.” Welcome to Jim Thorpe!

Between outdoor activities, lovely green spaces, and a historic downtown that earned this spot a title as one of the most beautiful small towns in the United States, it’s hard to think of a better setting for a couples retreat in Pennsylvania.

And the Dolon House is at the heart of it all. Built in 1888, this building is full of fascinating stories and features, like its jeweled stained glass windows, stunning hand-carved woodwork, a grand staircase, and the Italianesque mosaic entry floor.

Super local, homemade breakfasts kick off each day of your stay, and evenings are best spent relaxing in Doc Dougherty’s Suite, which features an original porcelain tub and lovely town views from a 6-windowed turret.

9. The Inn at White Oak

The inn White Oak Pennsylvania

Calling all history buffs! Gettysburg needs no introduction, and that’s exactly where you’ll find the next of my romantic getaways in Pennsylvania.

The Inn at White Oak is the best of both worlds. All the major historical attractions are just a short distance away, yet you’ll enjoy the seclusion of a true countryside retreat set on “30 private acres of gardens, ponds, pasture, woodlands, wildlife, and waterfalls.”

The estate also boasts a year-round, heated indoor pool, game room, tea room, and library!

There are so many couples add-ons to choose from, but one of my favorites is the Secret Service Package, which treats you to a dozen roses, jumbo chocolate-dipped strawberries, and sparkling cider on arrival.

During your stay, you and your special someone will also score an exclusive couples massage at the onsite spa as well as a deluxe breakfast-in-bed experience.

10. Texter Mountain Getaway

One look at this out-of-the-way mountain retreat will show you exactly why it’s one of the most romantic getaways in Pennsylvania.

Outfitted with a soaking tub, plush queen bed, and Mr. and Mrs.-themed decor and robes, the space is practically made for two. Plus, it’s set on a 2-acre clearing near the back of almost 10 wooded acres, with restaurants and supermarkets just a short drive away.

You and your partner can spend your days exploring the property’s wooded trails, making meals in the fully equipped kitchen, or simply soaking up your surroundings on the deck.

Watch the sunset, get a fire going, and end each evening with a soak in the hot tub. You may spot some local wildlife and definitely some stunning night skies!

11. The Back Woods Cabin

At my next spot, the mood is set before you even arrive; Driving to the property takes you along winding roads through densely forested state game lands in Lancaster County.

When the view at last opens out, you’ll be treated to a rolling lawn, tranquil pond, and, of course, the charmingly rustic, restored 1800s log cabin.

Mornings are perfect for wildlife watching from the front porch, while evenings are best spent curled up around the fireplace or sharing a meal at a quaint diner in town.

Between the comfortable bed, fully-stocked kitchen, and hot tub for two, you’re sure to leave this stay totally refreshed and as in love as ever.

12. Brooklyn’s Hide Away

Super cabin Pennsylvania

This spacious, picture-perfect cabin in Tannersville has more than enough space for two, and massive windows and soaring vaulted ceilings only make it feel bigger.

The surrounding area is overflowing with opportunities to ski, snowboard, zipline, mountain bike, and hike. At the end of a long day, you’ll have a private sauna and hot tub to help you unwind together.

Other fabulous features include a game room where you can stoke friendly competition over foosball, a sprawling deck ideal for nature-watching, and a fully-equipped kitchen where you can whip up a meal for your special someone.

13. Secluded Cabin in the Woods

Pennsylvania Romantic getaway

When you and your partner step onto these 28 secluded acres in the rolling hills of Northwestern PA, all your troubles (and the rest of the world) will feel far away.

With an outdoor propane grill, firepit, wrap-around deck, and Jacuzzi tub to entertain you–plus hiking trails right on the property–this is the place to leave laptops and phones unattended and simply enjoy.

Keep in mind: The access road to the cabin is unpaved, so a vehicle with medium-high clearance is recommended, and you’ll need an AWD or 4WD in winter.

While this stay is more rugged than other romantic getaways in Pennsylvania, the reward is well worth the extra effort!

14. Grouseland

Romantic getaway in Pennsylvania

Gorgeous Grouseland has around 150 reviews and a 5/5-star rating, so you know good things are in store.

This cozy cabin will make you feel right at home. Sip your morning coffees in the breakfast nook, admire lush views from the sprawling deck, and end each day in the private hot tub for two.

Active couples will have plenty to keep them busy. Kayak or swim in the deep, cool waters of the pond just at your doorstep, or explore the miles of clearly marked trails that wind around the property.

Best of all? The whole retreat is solar-powered, and the hosts place a real emphasis on sustainability, so your stay will be easy on the Earth.

15. Fernstone Treehouse

Beautiful cabin in Pennsylvania

Sure, these other romantic getaways in Pennsylvania are cool, but what if you could stay in your very own fairytale treehouse?

Fernhouse will have you swooning the second you step on the property. Leave your electronics at home because this is a no-Internet, back-to-the-basics kind of retreat.

Hand-crafted of natural timber, the treehouse promises stripped-down serenity, yet you’ll still have everything you need.

A kitchenette complete with a mini-fridge, dual brew coffee maker, 2-burner stove top, and microwave makes it easy to have a morning cuppa or evening meal. And did I mention there’s a hot tub on the deck?

Meanwhile, nearby Ohiopyle State Park, Laurel Ridge State Park, and the West Virginia Botanic Garden all make for lovely date destinations.

16. Liberty Log Cabin

Romantic getaway in Pennsylvania
Courtesy of Vrbo

I’ve featured a few log cabins on this list of romantic getaways in Pennsylvania, so what sets this spot apart? Well, the panoramic views to start.

Located near natural wonders like Loyalsock State Forest, Armenia Mountain, and the PA Grand Canyon, there’s no shortage of beauty to soak up.

In the home itself, the atmosphere is rustic, but the modern amenities are anything but. You’ll have a modern kitchen stocked with basics, a basement game room with air hockey, poker, and board games galore, and a covered outdoor hot tub.

Couples will love cuddling up around the fire pit, sipping morning coffees on the front porch, and strolling hand in hand along the property’s wooded walking trails.

I hope this article will help you plan one or more romantic weekend getaways with your partner.
